Tour description
Our journey begins at 9:30AM in front of the main entrance of the Palace, at the foot of the majestic golden Grille Royale. We will first head towards the south parterre where you will receive some background historical information about the Palace and it’s history. Start the day with a 1 hour Golfcart guided tour to explore and learn about the Palace and it’s beautiful french formal gardens with the amazing Bosquets (groves), an absolute must see ! Sit back and relax, or take the wheel and enjoy the beauty of the work of Mr Le Nôtre, Louis XIV’s favorite landscape designer.
This section of the tour is timed according to the fountains show schedule, as they are only activated from April until October, only on tuesdays and weekends, and not all day long !
Then take possession of your own private rowboat for a 1 hour self-guided ride on the peaceful waters of the Grand Canal while sipping cold french Champagne (glasses and snacks included).
Next, make your way back to the Palace on foot (10/15min) to visit it at 1:30, on you own, with a timed entry ticket.
You can also decide to visit the Palace later during the day and first have lunch or head for the Petit Trianon (Marie Antoinette’s hamlet) and the Grand Trianon (all tickets included)
EXCELLENT Basée sur 87 avis M W2024-10-13Trustindex vérifie que la source originale de l'avis est Google. This tour was absolutely one of our highlights while visiting Paris! Our guide Nima made it even more memorable by providing information and the history of the Palace and numerous gardens/structures/etc. Highly recommend the golf cart tour with lunch as walking would only allow you to see a fraction of what we experienced. Plus, you avoid the very long lines entering the grounds as you’ll walk right in with your group (we had 12 in ours). I can’t speak for the other guides, but if you get Nima, you’ll be very happy as he made sure he included everyone in our group when speaking. And his communications with us leading up to the tour (we used WhatsApp) was Exceptional! Five ⭐️’s for Nima! Recommend going thru Kingtours website as you’ll save a few euros for the same tour. Susan O'Neal2024-10-13Trustindex vérifie que la source originale de l'avis est Google. Nima was our guide and he was very professional and knowledgeable about the palace. Despite the weather, we only waited a few minutes for a group that booked late. I did not like the fact that one gentleman was smoking the entire journey. Nima did his best to accommodate all the guests. one of our guests even injured himself, and Nima was on top of things. We really enjoyed the golf cart portion of our tour and the lunch portion of our tour. we had some dietary restrictions that were completely met. They did offer a gluten-free and went out of their way to make sure that we had a dessert.. We did not get the bike part of our tour. Majority of our group did not know how to ride a bike so they voted to take the trolley. I highly recommend this tour. Just make sure the bike portion is optional for people who can’t ride a bike. We booked the golf cart tour around the gardens of Versailles and then rowing on the grand canal with a bottle of champagne through GetYourGuide. For those of you who aren’t familiar with GetYourGuide, they are a tour broker so they booked this tour event through Kingtours Versailles. We had a mix up in the beginning through GetYourGuide. Our meeting point was at an odd place and my entire soul told me something didn’t look right. But we went anyway only to later get a mass data dump due to spotty internet and find out we needed to meet at the gates of the chateau, which in retrospect should have been the obvious choice. But Kingtours went above and beyond to correct it! They were in constant communication and we also quickly put on our thinking caps and resolved our location. We arrive at the tour 40 min late only to find out most of the people were exhibiting a similar issue. So the tip here is to double check the meeting point and reach out to the tour guide/operating company. They will know best. GetYourGuide is a great way to book in advanced but do a bit more research and you’ll notice who they’re using to hire for the event and go directly to them. As for the tour, the guide Alistair was awesome. Super patient, greatly knowledgeable and provided us with some interesting off the history books little stories. Funny for sure. Like the connection between England’s God save the King and the French royal court. Most English people would baulk at the idea of such a connection. I thought it was funny given that the English and the French have had a tumultuous love affair with each other for centuries. The golf cart tour was certainly the way to go. Although you can rent these directly, doing the tour provided all the fun of hearing the history, someone to help take photos of you and having someone cut through all the space to take you to the most important locations. We experienced all of the beautiful fountains in the massive estate and still were able to catch up for lost time. We also got to enjoy the fountains in all their glory! Many of fountains are on a water schedule and so we witnessed them on and spraying out into their respective ponds the way Louis XIV would have enjoyed them back in the 17th century. They’ve since been upgraded of course, no fountain boy to get the water flowing as the King passed through. Finally, Alistair gave us our bottle of Champagne, 2 fluted cups and some chips and wished us well on the rowing journey we had ahead of us. I rowed the Grand Canal front to back and enjoyed the beautifully sunny day. October can get cold and windy but we lucked out and experience beautiful early autumn weather. The type of weather that made for a perfect day: 18 C or close to 65 F. I encourage to book Kingtours Versailles, they are awesome guides and the communications is certainly worth the status of nobility. Would highly recommend booking with this company. Our tour guide, Momo was absolutely wonderful. He was so knowledgeable and so friendly it was actually hard saying goodbye as the tour ended. Both Nima and Momo were flexible and responsive as issues with arriving on time were a struggle. It was literally the highlight of our trip and we will def be booking with Kingtours again. ihssane sarir2024-09-10Trustindex vérifie que la source originale de l'avis est Google. The tour was amazing in every aspect! It was very well organized, and the guide did an excellent job presenting the rich history of the royal kingdom. Using the golf cart made it easy to explore the hidden parts of the garden. Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to fully appreciate all the richness of the palace and its beautiful gardens on my own. This guided tour truly added a whole new dimension to the experience! ehrlich und wahr2024-09-10Trustindex vérifie que la source originale de l'avis est Google. Ganz schlechte Erfahrung!!!!
